Heater goes cold

Heater goes cold
The heater in my 2000 GC (dual climate control version) will get hot on both sides and will get cold on both sides. After about 40 minutes the temp on the passenger side will get cold. Turning it up a little makes it hot again for a while. Also turning it full cold, then back to the correct temperature seems to make it work again. Sometimes the drivers side does this too. I have checked the blend door through the glove box and it looks OK, though I can only check one side.
Any ideas?
