Not sure where to look next. Motor won't start on first try. Second try after 3-4 revs. New plugs, iac valve, cleaned the throttle body cause it needed it. I can turn it off and restart, no problem. Let it set a minute and it takes 2 tries. Fuel pump pressures up quick. Doesn't take a second. Runs great. Good acceleration. Thinking the filter/regulator next. Not sure it has ever been changed and has 244k. Does it sound like a symptom? If the pump ran longer I'd suspect it.

Sounds like you're fuel lines aren't holding pressure (in my uneducated opinion). Cause the first crank essentially gets the fuel lines primed again and the second fires.

I think you're right to suspect the filter/regulator. The pump only runs long enough to pressurize the fuel system and then won't run until the engine fires. You are loosing pressure in the mean time. Either that or you have a very badly leaking injector. If that were the case, I would think at least THAT cylinder would fire.

Well, I changed the filter/regulator and fixed the hard start. Cranks first time every time!!!! Yeehaa!!! No fuel pump to change..tickles me to death! It took me a while to get the 1 hose on. I took the white connector out of the new filter and should have just plugged the line in. Shocks are next.
