Hard jump going down gears

Hard jump going down gears
Noticed for the first time yesterday a hard shift/ gear change as the auto box changed down from I think 2nd - 3rd gear. Never had it happen before. 2002 wj overland 4.7
Anyone any ideas what would cause this or could it be a sign of worse to come?
