Default Gutless and other issues with 96 jeep grand cherokee 4.0

Ok. So I really hope you can help me! I bought this jeep off a kid who told me it needed minor work. Lol
He said alls it needed was a rear pinion bearing so it howled. I can handle that.
I've had it for a couple months now and these are it's problems..best way to describe it is when u step on the gas it "feels heavy" like it's working really hard to go. We had stalling and ruff idle issues but have mostly fixed those (occasionally idles funny almost stalls then is ok) we replaced the crank sensor, the distributor cap and rotor, checked spark plugs and wires, and a new fuel filter. Still feels gutless. Also burns though an insane amount if gas idk if this makes sence. But it seems to have more power if I start in 1 (this is an automatic) and shift up. But I noticed it almost feels like it only has 2nd and 3rd gear? (Also adds up when I watch the rmp) I'm lost... I've heard tps, PCM, or some sensor in the tranny???

Does the rev high and feels like your not moving fast? Or does it feel like something is holding you back like binding? Is it actually shifting through all the gears? Could be torque converter is shot.

Could be a weak fuel pump, a clogged catalytic converter, or a transmission problem. Check the fuel pressure, check the condition of the tranny fluid, and have the cat tested.

It feels "heavy" I don't know how else to describe it. Not like it's binding. Just has no power. Highway driving if I stomp on the gas it had no torque/guts..The engine and tranny both have 115k on them...and it won't rev past 2500, and no it does not feel like it's shifting through all the gears. Feels like it won't shift past 3rd...

My quesses are a plugged catalytic converter or a blown stator in the torque converter.
