What do I look at if my 94 grand cherokee goes in gear and then after a bit it just goes back out of gear. I added transmission fluid. Is there a sensor that might need replaced? Thanks for all suggestions on what to check.

 

Do you mean it comes out of gear and you have put it back into gear? Or does the engine just rev with no movement no matter what you do? It could be something as simple as adjusting the shifter cable.

 

It slips out of gear. Then I can shut the motor off, put it in drive and it'll go into gear again

 

Could be something electrical, your best bet would be to have a transmission shop check it out.
