I've got a 2000 Grand Cherokee with the 4.7 v8. I plan on towing a 3500 pound camper (dry) (5100 loaded) That is 21.5 feet. I've got the weight distribution hitch, and wiring for electric brakes. How have other people done with this setup? Should I look for heavier duty tires? right now I have p225 on there. Should I switch to the 245 or look for an lt rated tire? Thanks

i dont tow alot but just make sure if you do go to the 245 tires that you change all 4 and not just the back because differnt sizes can mess up the trasfer case

We've towed a lot of things with my wife's '04 WJ w/the 4.7L V8 and AWD, and 245x70x16 tires.
It came with the trailer tow package and heavy duty cooling packages and will tow 5,000 lbs. max according to the owners manual. (Without trailer brakes.) We've towed the boat, trailers full of furniture, a tow dolly many times with different vehicles on it including a mini van, and other things before I bought my ZJ.
Never had a problem as long as you remember you have a trailer back there.
