I need a crank pilot bushing for my torque converter. My transmission is a 2004 wj and I am using a 2004 Grand cherokee motor that does not have the pilot for the smaller torque converter is this a jeep dealer part or does somebody else sell them? id of bushing is 1.336 od of bushing is 1.818 thanks for any help anyone can give....tried the grease.. then pounded the pudd out of it and it did not budge, tried heating it no good either rather than destroy a good crankshaft decided to buy new pilot bearing.

Try a 1-1/2" course thread tap, then use a bolt in a slide hammer. If that doesn't work, try slicing it with a Dremel. The bushing probably is a dealer item. Check the torque converter flexplate for bolt spacing unless you're using your old one.

Thanks Dave1123 for the reply!....I have found out the dealer part number is called a crank sleeve, part number 4736204AA and the part has been discontinued. found one here moparpartsoverstock.com

my guess is that the same guy who thought it was a good idea to quit making this part also decided it would be a good idea to install the 2 torx head bolts on the top of the transmission that requires you to buy special sockets/wrenches to remove. anyway have one on order because I do not have access to a lathe or bridgeport. the O.D of the sleeve is 1.818 the I.D.of the sleeve is 1.336 looks like it may be about 5/8" thick for those who have a mill. anyone know where I can get nutserts for the skid plate? jeep dealer item too? Fastenal did not have them. not in a need for them yet.thanks!

moparoverstock.com just sent me an email part no longer available...long story short made one myself out of 5/8" plate steel and 2 hole saws fit great and now have transmission installed.
