Hey fellow Jeepsters - I need some information regarding what exactly is a Jeep Grand Cherokee Sport Edition.
I have a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Rocky Mountain Edition with a production date of April, 2004. So this is probably one the very last WJ series made.
I am looking to replace my stock taillight assemblies with LED taillight assemblies. Several of the models that I have looked at say they fit all 1999-2004 Jeep Grand Cherokees EXCEPT the Laredo Sport Version.
What the heck is that and how do you know if you have one or not?
Thanks,
Chris-Lynchburg VA

The only thing I can think of is google it. The Laredo is their most common package not sure what the Laredo sport package included. Hoping you find your answer though

I have a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo "Sport Utility / Upcountry", as per the VIN, but it's no different then any other ZJ, It's just different package options, I would assume yours is the same and the lights would work

why are you concerned about the Laredo Sport, if you say you have the Rocky Mtn. Edition?
it shouldn't matter, though. use this to help you: http://wjjeeps.com/newoptions2.htm

Well, when all else fails - go to the dealer and ask. Even though they couldn't give me the full answer I was looking for - they gave me enough to put two and two together.
There quite a few parts that have different manufacturer ID part numbers between the base Laredo and the Columbia Edition, The Freedom Edition, The Rocky Mountain Edition, The Overland, etc, etc.
But in the end, all of those part numbers were superseded by the numbers used on the special edition models. Which tells me that there wasn't any functional difference at all.
But thanks for the replies...much appreciated!
