Selectable lockers are the only way to go unless its a trail rig only! They let u select when u want it to be locked, & come in a few different styles air, cable, & electronic!

after looking a little farther into this it appears that most people highly recommend not locking the front end at all with the 249 (transfer case with full time 4x4)
an option you can look into is doing a t-case swap to either a 242 or a 231.
