I need help indentifying the gear ratio in my '95 ZJ. It is stock with a 4.0 auto w/ AWD. I am pretty sure it has a Dana 30 CV type front axle. There are not any ID tags on either axle, just some barely readable numbers stamped in the Diff cover below the Dana symbol on the front diff. I need to replace the entire front axle and need to know what the gear ratio is. Any help would be great. Thanks

 

Block off the front tires and jack up one rear tire. Put it in neutral, spin the jacked up tire exactly one turn and count how many times the drive shaft turns. If it turns 3 and 1/2 times it's a 3.55, 3 and 3/4 it's a 3.73 and so on. Easiest way I know.
