Default Front Drive shaft hitting cross member ZJ

While wheeling my 96 Zj. My front Driveshaft will hit my Cross member trans support. I still have stock Lower control arms. I do not have much drop out of front axle. I would like to put new longer LCA on, as well as longer shocks. Is the only solution to build a belly skid to remove the 2x4 metal support?
How much more Clearance will A HP D30 from an XJ give to my ZJ.

How much lift are you running with stock arms? The stock arms may be the problem. I have a four inch lift with long arms, never have any clearance issues because the axle swings at a different arch than it would with short arms.

I have a believe a 3" lift.
I really don't have that much drop out of the front axle. Coming from an Xj building background I wouldn't think it should hit. It does have the 249.
I will put the Control arms off my Tj on it.
Fixed lower adjustable upper.
The lower measure 16"
Upper 15 3/4.
Hopefully it's enough to get a little more clearance. I may try to adjust the upper more to get the LP 30 a little more pinon angle.

I wonder if the 249 transfercase is clocked a little lower than the 231?
