front drive shaft?

Default front drive shaft?

when im driving down the road my car makes a grinding noise...its not very loud but its loud enough i hear it. and it gets worse when i press the gas pedal and accelerate, im thinking its the drive shaft but im not sure because i got under there and checked for play but it didn't have any. just wondering what else it could be

is it full time 4wd? sounds like either a cv joint or viscous coupler. either way, don't just remove the front driveshaft. you won't have park and it will destroy the vc if removed.

yes it is full time 4wd, ill get up under there and check the cv joint when this rain calms down. I didn't even think about that. thanks

yea, pretty sure its the cv joints, the rubber boots are busted and one is completely gone. guess ill be doing a lil mechanical work this weekend. and one more question, would the cv joints being like that cause a vibration.

yup, very possible. if it has a tight sticky spot during revolution, you will feel it.

i'm sure you can swap them out with u-joint shafts to get rid of the cv shafts. should be a direct swap. you may have to do some measuring to find proper fit.
