First question from thick Newbie
Hi All
I have a 99 WJ with what sounds like shot front hubs (Loud whirring noise whilst driving)
Problem is its a 2WD Laredo and all the hubs I have found online seem to be for a 4wd version.
Is the hub the same ?
Thanks
B

They're the same. The 2WD has a stub axle that goes through the hub/bearing, and has the ABS tone ring on the inboard end of it.

I suppose it would be better to actually ask the question to see what people think.
I have a whirring sound which sounds from the front when driving
It gets louder as I accelerate and quieter when I decelerate
It pulls slightly to the right on the straight
I had the front up and both wheels have NO movement and when spun they are quiet and make no noise.
I have recently fitted new calipers, discs and pads on the front.
And the whirring still goes on. It sounds like loud road noise.
Local fitter said he's 90% sure its the bearings but there is no evidence.
As I said its 2wd rear
Weird.
Any advice ?
