Welcome to the forum!

On my '94, the upper radiator cross member may be removed to permit yanking both at the same time.

Remove the transfer case. On mine, I remove the hood, exhaust, transfer case linkage, radiator, alternator, fan w/ clutch, front accessory mount, distributor cap and EGR valve. The A/C compressor, A/C evaporator and power steering pump are moved to the sides.

There is a nice slope when yanking both together out the front, over the remaining bumper welded cross member.

A 94 and an 01 are completely different vehicles..

I had a rough enough time pulling the 4.0 from the wife's WJ, I'd have really hated trying to pull both. You will need to remove everything on the front end..

It's tough to clear the front cross member and the cowl with engine alone, I cant imagine having the trans hanging off it also.

it is definitely possible, i have two engines and transmissions bolted together sitting in my buddys garage that i pulled out while attached. if 4wd youll probably have to remove the t-case, i didnt try it with it still on but it didnt look like there was enough clearance so i pulled it off. but yes it is doable and not difficult

How big is your hoist and how much overhead room do you have? It unlikely a cherry picker would go high enough to do both and clear everything in the grill area. With a gantry crane and a leveler, no problem.

I just have a regular 3 ton engine hoist, I took the hood off and removed the grille, headlights, radiator and condenser. Came right out no problem
