I need help with picking an engine for my 97 grand Cherokee im looking at a 4.7 stroker baja engine for $4000 or what might be better looking for performance

If you're talking about a restroked 4.0, remember this. Increasing the stroke increases torque and it may be more than your D35 rear axle can handle. Also, the 42re trans isn't the strongest kid on the block.

You might be better off taking your $4000 and finding a V8 ZJ.

 

I understand that I may be overspending on an engine but i am gonna put stronger axles and a tranny im no big fan of the v8 because they dont last as long as the 4.0 and they may have the power but they r harder to work on but u are right about the amount of money
