Default Engine shuts off changing gears

Hi there, first of all a quick thank you to everyone in this forum! I have a beloved 1998 Cherokee grand Laredo, which has only recently started acting up

The jeep keeps shutting down in the past month, I'm pretty sure we got it narrowed down to when it is automatically changing gears while getting off the highway or standing at a stop, or reversing.
We had the engine rebuilt 8 months ago, and in the last two weeks replaced the spark plugs caps, cables, new Bosch fuel pump (thank you all for recommending Bosch!) and oil change.

Reading about other jeeps makes in this forum, it does sound like the Crank Position Sensor, but the jeep does start up fine and drives, so not so sure about it.
basically me question is :
1. Does it sound like an electric problem? should I find an electrician?
2.does anyone has recommendations for a reliable electrician in Los Angeles, prefferably the SF valley?

Thank you!!!
