That definitely looks like it could be the reason for your Jeeps problem right there doesn't it!

Yes, I think .....the problem is that I live in a remote area on spare parts and waiting for days until new sensors come in. Yes, what do you think about the rise in temperature of the second picture sensor?

I understand about remote areas. Having easy access to parts availability is certainly a problem.

That sounds like a bad sensor that needs to be replaced to me. That was a good observation seeing the high increased temperature of that sensor. It is actually used in part of the diagnostics protocol. After turning on the engine, it is reccomended to test the temperature of the IAT. It should be 10* Fahrenheit above or below the ambient temperature of the vehicle. If this is not the case, it is considered to be a problem with the sensor...

I thought about it a little more.. That sensor in your second picture is of the IAC valve. It is possible that with it being electrically charged, that it could get too hot like that, and be a sign of it being bad. It sounds like you tested it the IAC and got abnormal readings already too.

That IAC may be more of the reason for why you are experiencing the problems you are having too. An IAC valve that sticks in the closed position will create an idle speed that's too low. Your RPMs will drop way down the car may feel like it's about to stall. On the other hand, an IAC valve that sticks in the open position will create an idle speed that's too high. The engine will run fast even though you're not moving. A bad IAC valve can also cause a surging condition at idle, where the RPMs will increase and then drop back to normal.

The IAT sensor picture above clearly shows it as definitely being broken, and it obviously needs replaced. Both of those things being bad could cause high abnormal RPM like you experience too. I wonder what caused the IAT to break? A bad backfire could bust the IAT.

In terms of your question about the reason for breaking the sensor I say that it was not broken at first but it was very dirty tried clean and was broken as a result of the original errachidia.
