Engine Interchangeability Question
I'm new here and have been searching the internet all day for an answer but only getting very vague ones. I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0L Inline 6 engine that died on me. The head gasket cracked causing the coolant to leak into the oil and etc, it's dead and there's no saving it.
What I'm wanting to know is if a 98 4L inline 6 engine would work for my 02? Any help you can give me would be much appreciated!

Engine: 4.0 with all of the noise and clatter
The long block should work out for you, but there will be issues with mounting the coil on plug ignition system on the older style cylinder head.
