Engine guru's.. XJ 4.0 shortblock into WJ?
Need some input...
Looking at a 99 WJ with 4.0L, has a bad bottom end. I also have a 96 XJ 4.0L with 66K miles that i have hidden away awaiting a project Jeep. Any issues using the 96 shortblock to WJ head/coilpack?
Got some feedback third person from a Junkyard interchange system that the motor mount bosses changed position on block, and i need a TJ or WJ specific block. But if memory serves me correctly there have been guys who used older blocks in coilpack XJ's, TJ's etc before.
Anyone know FOR SURE and can point me to the info?
Thanks a ton..

there was a thread here a while back and according to it, there was a difference in casting for the motor mounts. Ill see if I can find it, but aparently they were in fact different
