Default Electrical issue

I have a 1996 ZJ limited with the 4.0 and I noticed today that when hitting the brake my front running lights come on. Also when its turned off and key out hitting the brakes make the dinger ring. I have tried to do some searches and have not found any good information on this problem. Has anyone ever run into this or fixed it?

May sound crazy, but check the brake light bulbs. One may be shorted to the running light filament.

NICE CATCH, Busted!! It sounds so possible it hurts! I was going to suggest the socket, but the bulb sounds more like it. The dinger dings because it thinks the lights are on.

Thank you for giving me a good place to start. As soon as I pulled the light out I found the problem. The previous owner hacked up the wiring with a trailer light harness. Its all fixed now.

Inside the rear side panel, there is a plug that you separate and the trailer lighting module goes in there, in other words it taps off the original harness. It converts the 6 light system to the 4 lights of the trailer.
