Default Dumb blonde needs advice on wiggly jeep!

Quick question for everyone- I purchased an 05 V6 grand cherokee a few months ago. Recently it's started shaking when I brake from a higher speed, usually anything over 45mph. Any idea what is and how much it will be to fix? It has 75,000 miles on it.

Thanks!

Amanda

Sounds like you need new front rotors and brakes . Probably run you around120 for parts . That's just my opinion.

^X2 on needing new rotors and brake pads. Some might tell you to have your rotors turned but there's not a huge price difference between doing that and getting new ones.
And Welcome to CF.

Could also bee rear brake drums, if you have rear drum breaks, or the rear rotors if its 4 wheel disc brakes, but most likely it is your front rotors.

Thanks, I had an infiniti qx4 before this so I'm sure the jeep will be a welcome break on my wallet as far as parts are concerned, those were hard to find and expensive!

Yeah could be , but if your steering wheel shakes bad when applying your brakes its most definitely the front

Tell them your brake pedal is kicking back because of heat warped rotors and you want the front pads and rotors checked/replaced.

My '04 used to eat rotors until I started using ceramic pads. They last longer now, and you don't get all that black brake dust on the wheels.

Be sure to hand torque your lug nuts anytime you have to take the wheels off and put them back on. Some people have a heavy finger on the impact wrench trigger and will warp the rotors by over torqueing the lug nuts.
