~*~ Droopy Rear View Mirrors ? ~*~ *Pics

Gentlemen, good evening; I trust to find all of you and your families well.
Things are good here. As my pipe fitter friend Leanne used to say "slow and steady wins the race" "The older the goat the stiffer the horn" etc.
Joking aside, I have a minor problem with my rear view side mirrors. The right side more than the drivers yet they both do it to some extent.
Just about every time I get in the car I have to adjust the mirrors. Not that its a problem greater than life but it has gotten to some extent annoying.
Its an 2002 Grand Cherokee Overlander with 115K on her.
Is there a quick fix for this? Or do I have to replace them ?
Ive checked to see if my auto settings are programmed to reset but I have yet to see the mirrors move as I turn the key? So it must do it while I turn off the car and step out? Really not sure its a mystery to me.
From previous experience I believe there are still very knowledgeable men on this forum. Perhaps you maybe able to assist with a solution to this pesky problem. Thanking you in advance for your responses and suggestions.

Took Indianapolis tonight -3. 24pts in the 1st Q.
I guess that was a good bet. I suppose I shouldn't jinx it, fat lady hasn't sung, games not done.
Hey guys. Its still doing it, over here. Mirrors miraculously adjust themselves?
Stumper huh? Tough question to trouble shoot/figure for the Tech Forum guys. Maybe they never ran into this happening to someone else. MOst people probably just deal with it 2/3X a day adjusting'm.
100 views. Doesn't appear anyone else has had this problem and solved it ugh ?
I guess not or perhaps the person that's had it happen to them hasn't seen this post yet. Sure I guess that's a possibility?

Thanks Loso for chiming in. I hear ya. Ive dealt with it for about 6 months now myself.
New mirrors should not be out of line but I just wanted to be sure that would fix the problem.
Could you imagine spending the money and then the new mirrors do it too. OhNooooooo.
That would be horrible. Maybe there's some one else here that has experience with this issue that wouldn't mind sharing their fix.
Thanks again. Who knows maybe there's an easy fix for us both.

Hows it going guys? Yes it did it again today??
Btw I tried goggling it but nothing yet maybe I'll try a YouTuber...
Not being a tech guy I really don't know the answer?
Maybe there's a spring or suction type mechanism behind there that gets weak that can be changed out, tightened or tweaked?
No idea, would anyone else happen to know?
Any trouble shooting tips are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

only info I've found is that it happens when unlocking with the remote
did you actually reprogram the memory settings?
worst case is set them where you want and unplug them

Yo TimberWolf what's doing guy? My apologies for the delayed response. I don't get the auto emails when someone responds to the thread so I didn't even know you had posted to try and help. Thank you.
So if I understand you correctly, you are suggesting that when I use the remote to open (I do that all the time) the mirrors may actually be moving at that point huh? If that's the case it would explain why I never see or hear them adjusting.
I have reset the auto program 1, 2 seat adjustments on the drivers door panel and they still move around everyday
Now when you say set them and unplug them. I'm confused by that?
What exactly are you referring to TW?
Thank you in advance for clarifying.
If for some reason I'm not able to get them to stop shifting I may opt to replace them if need be as long as they are within rea$on...
Take care and thanks for your help. Enjoy your evening.

You could pull the fuse, but I don't know what else might be on the circiut.
You should be able to unplug the wiring harness from the mirror to see if it still does it

Oh I see what your referring to now. That would certainly be one option to consider. Thank you.
I guess I'd rather fixed the problem then disabled it in-operable. I wonder if there's in that diagram that actually simple needs cleaning, lubing etc. Kinda like how that door switch was faulty with all kinds crud, sticky dirty causing poor conductivity etc.
Thanks again for clarifying and posting the diagram.
Very much appreciated. I'll have to further consider it and go from there.
I assume the regular GM site I've contacted in the past should offer it.
Thanks again. Good night Sir.
