driveline vibration
I am going to change out the VC on my 94 GCL -my question is will a bad VC cause vibration under load ? I have replaced the motor and tranny mounts so I'm sure they are OK and am going to inspect the front driveshaft. anything else I can check while I am under there. thanks

I will check out the rear driveshaft as well --I am hoping to change out the viscous coupler in the transfer case if it gets delivered before the weekend--I did the complete drive axles with the cv joints and bearings about 6 months ago so I am sure they are OK thanks

Old fart with a wrench
Okay, here's what caused a severe vibration in my 89 Chevy 4x4 and it might help you. The splined slip-joint section of the front driveshaft wore out and allowed the shaft to bend in the middle when you drove it, spinning off center. I got a reman shaft at a truck shop.

axle seals perhaps......... bad axle seals can get grit in there and wear the axle shafts pretty bad.... eventually causing bad vibrations. Might as well check your transfer case mounts while you're under there too.
