doorless thoughts

so yes i have seen threads about going doorless and so forth but my question is is there an easier way to take them off without unbolting the hinges?
my idea is to use one of these

on both pins so you can just slide those off and pull the door off without having to unbolt each time... could that work out? just trying to get some ideas because the weather is starting to get nice again and ill be looking forward to going doorless
so if you have any ideas just shoot them out or if youve done something id like to know

works out just fine. Actually we used some tractor pins shaped more like this, with the little clip on top so the doors would still close.

bought these pins at Tractor Supply Co, but you might be able to get something similar somewhere else

the bottom ones drop straight in and held in place by gravity

top ones go in upside-down and held in by the clip. (Not enough room to drop down from the top)

just remember to unplug the electronics harness from the door. There is a single screw holding both halves together. We took the screw out and left it out, but sometimes the power windows don't wanna work unless you open the door and jiggle the plug.

thats awesome! i was looking around to see if i could find anything that would make it 10x easier then unbolting and figured that a few of those would work, i will probably use your idea, now was it difficult to get that factory bolt out or how did you go about that, i havent looked at it yet just trying to gather ideas first

You have to unbolt the doors and grind the stock pin out. Passenger side was a breeze. Driver's side was a lot harder, I guess since that door is used a lot more often and the pin was probably slightly bent from use.
Interior is a Rockhard bolt-in rollcage and some cheap seat covers from Amazon. Have not really used the KC lights very much. I don't recall any problems with glare but the last time we took the jeep out it was really muddy and dusty out and the jeep was covered. Your interior gets uber-filthy with the doors off. Starting to wish I had vinyl floors.

I forgot to mention, but all of the door sensors have been removed, as well as the security module. I didn't want the jeep to think the doors were open
all of the time and cause the interior lights to stay on. Security module had been removed just because we only had one master key and were tired of the whole have-to-open-from-passenger-side thing.

ok cool ill give that a try in the next week or so and i plan on just taking the light pin for the door off so the interior ligghts stay off, i already completely disabled my alarm cuz i couldnt get it to shut off so i said screw it didnt feel like having it go off every time i unlocked the jeep, but any ways thanks alot!

FYI I've been told that taking the doors off of a unibody makes the whole thing more susceptible to folding together. I do not know if this is true or not. I already had the rollcage and rock sliders in place holding everything straight, so it wasn't a concern for me.

Yeah I've heard that too but I looked it up alot concerning that and it said doors are ok just the back hatch deft has to stay on, which I was not even gonna take those off anyways but I am gonna try to plan to get sliders and such later on hopefully

Went ahead and took the doors off today! Oh yes was it fantastic and I will with out a doubt be doing the cotter/tractor pin in the door cuz bolting them back on kinda blew... But anyways thanks for the advice!

What about using cj hinges on the outside of the door and get rid of the original hinges completely I think it would look bad and make the removable I think I would also incorporate the tractor pin idea also

I thought about the Wrangler hinges, but figured that the sheetmetal on the fender probably would not support the weight of the door when it was open.
