I have a
1996 grand cherokee limited 4.0l engine


The other day I turned on the defrost due well to the windows being fogged up. I could have sworn i've used the defrost and heat before in the jeep. I do live in Florida but still at least the defrost.

the air coming out of the defrost vents was cold, but it was very very early in the morning and was cool outside. I know the ac wasn't on because its bearings are going bad and causes the vehicle to have issues if turned on.

assuming it was working before what would cause it to stop working?

assuming the prior owner bypass'ed it how could i be able to tell?

The defrost uses the same heater core as the heater. However, it is possible that your heater core is plugged up. You might try reverse flushing it with a hose. If it doesn't flow, try a cooling system flush
