I have a 98 Limited & every time I turn the vents on it will blow out of the defroster with quick spouts where it will blows thru the vents for a few minutes then switch back. Same thing happens when I run the AC on. I'd really like my vents to work properly so how does one go about fixing this issue??
Thanks!

Thanks!

It will. I would plug the line with a bolt for now. That's a big vacuum leak. That will let vents work and not have the leak.
I went through same thing. My tank was cracked in accident. I plugged line till I could get new tank. My vents have been working fine without it, for now.

So I finally went & got the plastic black ball that the vacuum line plugs into & mounted & plugged it in. Now most is working EXCEPT that only the #4 setting works on the fan speed **** as 1, 2, or, 3, don't work...

Ok, Now you need to replace the blower motor relay. That is located under the dash in back of the glove box. It's a easy repair.

Yeah I know my thread's a bit old, but I never got around to fixing the air flow ****, (off, 1, 2, 3, 4), that only works on 4 or Hi. So I went to Napa today & asked for a blower motor relay & told him it only works on hi & he said its not the relay, its the blower motor resistor & the darn things $50 bucks! I wasn't in full agreement nor did I have the $50, so is there a way to figure this out with a multi meter before I go spend $50 smackers???
Oh & both the resistor & relay are directly behind the glove compartment in my 98 Limited & u only need to remove the rubber stoppers to let the glove compartment swing all the way down & there they are staring right at you.
((I tried an off the shelf relay that matched up & nothing worked with that in. I priced the relay at Napa & even that's an $18 buck gamble!))
