cv driveshaft
Do anyone got a lifted gc with a cv joint in the front ds? I'm ordering a lift kit and they said i got to convert the cv to a u joint because its to weak and will break.

It's not that it's too weak. It just cant operate at the angles given to it once the Jeep is lifted. I've heard of people running 2" lifts and being fine with it. I've also heard of people running 2" having it blow out the first time they flexed a little, or went offroad at all. Dunno how high you're going, but I think you may as well switch to a U-joint style. Better safe than sorry. Go to a junkyard and pull one off of another Grand Cherokee (Dont forget the differential yoke too!) and just sell your cv shaft(I think they go for alot?)

i have a 04 WJ with a 4" lift and have been wheeling it pretty hard for a while now with factory drive shafts with no problem. (I was told by RC that only 5% of applications require a drive shaft swap)
