Bought a 1999 Grand Cherokee Limited 4.7L. It says Quadra Drive on the console. The LF cv axle was popping and carrying on and couldn't go over 40mph without the steering wheel shaking, so I ordered a new axle off Rockauto fitting those criteria above. Well, it came in and the splines are shorter and the machined surface for the seal doesn't match up. I've gone to parts stores to see what they thought, and everything they can get me is the same deal. I ordered a precision 8035 axle for vari-lok. The one I pulled out is a GSP ncv82510. I'm wondering if the previous owner put the wrong axle in.
Anyway, do I try the one I ordered and see if it leaks or do I get on ebay and order another GSP one? I just can't figure out why they're different. I selected the one with Quadra Drive. On paper it should be right but it isn't. Any ideas?
