So i put a new crank position senser in my wifes zj. The new senser had what looked like a piece of construction paper on the end. The paper work with the senser sead it was to space the senser correctly when installed. The first few times I started it after install it shut off after a few seconds. Does it take more then one start to knock off the paper or could this meen more trouble.

 

I would think the paper should of been removed after you installed it.

 

If i had to guess I would say paper would not obstruct a magnetic pick up device.

 

The paper is there to set the correct gap between the sensor and flexplate.
