The console rear cupholder slide on my '99 Grand Cherokee Laredo is stuck in the open position. Any ideas on how to release it without cracking the plastic cupholders so it will close, or is removal of entire console required to repair?

 

Well I broke mine in the exact same situation as yours when trying to force it back in, so be sure you use caution with whatever the answer is
