Oil pressure
Hi guys, I got a query that I hope someone can answer for me.
My 4.7 V8 Cherokee oil pressure gauge shows a reading even before I start her up ( I mean with the ignition on ) is that normal? I would have expected no pressure reading till she starts?

normally when you turn the key on the guadge should go to zero,start buy checking all the conections makeing sure nothing is loose or broken.

Engine: 4.0 with all of the noise and clatter
The gauge cluster is electronic and may go through a self check when starting, and the needle might just be sitting where is last was when the engine was shut down.
