Default communication problems between module and transmission on a 2005 GC

Good morning!, my 2005 Grand Cherokee has a communication problem between the module and the transmission, that's what the specialist said, and he quote me $500-$800 dlls. depending in what else he would find, I watch a video on you tube about how to replace it and/or clean it. is it that easy to do it? and he also said he needs to re-program the computer, is it really true? cause I have been reading about it and I can't find any information about that.
Thanks in advance for your responses............

Yes, I try to clean it this weekend and it did work better, I watch a video on you tube in how to do it, but still is not shifting properly.

You have any idea if I need to replace it?

Thank you so much for taking your time in this post

I am pretty sure this is just a simple logic board that will not require any programming. Perhaps some of the other more knowledgeable jeep folks can chime in here. If you've already had it out to clean it and didn't get the results you expected, perhaps it wasn't cleaned good enough or you do need to replace it.
