I have a clunking noise when shifting from park to reverse/drive. The jeep even jerks forward and backwards a tad bit. Once in gear, it drives smoothly and shifts with no problems.
After I replaced the U-joints, I found the problem is still there.
Any ideas?

Yeah, my WJ has done the same thing for the last 150K miles. Usually just going from drive to reverse though. Nothing's worn or loose so I'm not worried about it. I'm told it might be the transfer case chain has a little slack in it, but IDK. It IS more prevalent in 4wd however.
