Default Cherokee 2011 Nav Question

I just got my 2011 Cherokee Lerado X with the Nav and I was wondering if there was a way to use the Nav without the radio playing? So far the only way I've found it to use an audio source like "CD" and not have a CD in the drive. Otherwise the radio is playing the whole time... and I would assume that just lowering the volume to 0 would also mute the Nav...

Thanks

There is a thick book in the glove box, it's called the owners manual. Read it. Did you really think you would get an answer from people that are driving 15 year old Jeeps?

The manual doesn't have the answer, pretty thin manual actually (<50 pages), and the car is so new the dealer hasn't really had a chance to play with it. I figured that the cherokee forum would be a good place to ask a question about a Cherokee, it was worth a shot anyway

Who makes the radio itself? BOSE, Infinity, Ect....Figure that out then give them a call. I doubt a GPS/Indash CD/Radio is going to be Mopar OEM. Maybe....

From what I can gather it's all made by Alpine. Try them or Crutchfield, they are great and know EVERYTHING about radios.

There should be the owners manual, the tire warranty trifold, the booklet that explains the radio and nav system, and lemon law paperwork all in the glove box. If not, the dealer owes it all to you.
