Default Check Engine light

Hello all,

The Check Engine light just came on my 006 WK. (3.7 4wd) The serive engine thing says 0 miles left until service. Do those go hand in hand? I was going to change my oil this week. The service message hit 0 miles a week ago, but I have not had time. I'm wondering if I wait too long it throws a check engine light

Also when I change my oil how to I reset the counter?

Hit the menu button until it shows "Miles to Service", then press 3,000 miles, 6,000 miles whatever you want, then hit the reset button.

Also the check engine light came on this morning when the truck was running parked while loading up a few last min things. After the trip (to the beach for the day) we filled up and it went away.. im wondering if my cap was loose..

a bad or missing fuel cap will sometimes set off your check engine light

A loose cap will too sometimes. Make sure it clicks when replacing it.
