No, on a Jeep Grand Cherokee there are no factory speakers from the dealer in the cargo area, (or behind the back seats). There are 4 speakers, which you probably already know where they are.

mine has 6. one in each door and then two factory tweeters in the dash.

But he has a 4 door jeep (as in his avatar) and all four doors have a speaker, and the hatch does not.

I have a 4 door, 2, one in each of the front 2 door pannels and 2 in the rear on the fiberglass rear hatch

i have put memphis speakers in all the doors but did not know that there were twetters in there. i wonder if they stopped doin that in the 97 or have i just not realized it. i have a 1000 watt amp adn a memphis 12" with a big box and still have room for chains and tools. i took two speaker boxes made to go behind the seat in a single cab and took the top off them and put them in the cargo area and they hold plenty of tools withoout them slinging all over the place.

i tried to fit an xj sound bar in my zj and it woulda taken a lot of work......i was disappointed.
