hi there i was wondering how you install a car seat for an infant in the back seat. Is it possible to install it in the middle of the seat

 

I own a 1987 XJ and have installed a car seat in the rear seat.
I placed the car seat in the middle of the rear seat and used the middle rear lap seatbelt to strap in the car seat.( rear facing )

My wife is a cert. car seat tech.

 

Same place i put my little guy!-----

 

I know nothing about hauling kids around, but should the seats be either on the passenger or driver side? I always thougt a car seat had two spots for seat belts. One loop for the bottom belt and one loop for the belt that goes over the shoulder to keep the seat from moving foward (or over) in case of a sudden stop...

 

Some vehicles have just a lap belt in the rear center. I feel that odds are better for him to be in the center- better odds in a side collision. Did this with both of my boys. I can get the seat so tight , my wife cannot get it out.
