Default A/C problem

Hi, i have tried to refil my A/C today since the compressor only goes 2 sec on and then off for 20-30 sec. The pressure was fine and i didnt need to add much, the lines from the compressors are normaly warm and the line from the condenser (in front) and to the inside of the car is cold, very cold. But why does it cycle?

Default update.

If i take out the socket to the pressure switch it still cycle, if i short the socket to "hotwire" the compressor it still cycle, its no difference if the pressure switch is in use or not. The first cycle when the engine is started is a litle bit longer than rest of the cycles. Does it help to solve my problem?

Might be freezing up, take it to a shop and get it done prop. have them evac it, and vaccume it for awhile to get the moisture out.

if its freezing, shouldnt i be able to hotwire it? The first cycle the compressos has when engine is started is 4-5 sec and is it possible to freeze at that time? Is there som temperatur sensor some place that controll the cycle time?

It's supposed to cycle, cycling keep the evaporator from freezing up. If it'd blowing cold don't worry about it.

mine was doing a very similar cycling issue pressure good system full my issue was the evaporator was coverd with 20 some years of dust dog hair causing it to freeze causing the automatic thermostat to cycle the ac on and off i removed the blower moror resistor and the blower motor and a friend held a pan under the resistor hole while i sprayed with a garden hose thru the blower motor hole ,no more cycling and the blower motor moves a hole lot more air thru the vents, i tried by passing all switchs this cured my ac prob
