Hi All,
I refilled my aircon last week....i went to use the a/c yesterday as it was warm here, but did not get cold at all. I then checked the valve and it was completely empty of gas again.
What i would like to know is there a particular joint on the system they leak from, because i aint got a clue were to start!!! Its a GC AWD 4.0L 1997.
Thanks Alan...

If it takes less than a week for it to lose refrigerant... you have a massive leak. It could almost be at the point of hearing a faint hiss.... At this point it would be wise to take it to a trusted shop for diagnosis... One thing you could do is check the service port valves by putting a drop of water on them to see if there is refrigerant leaking out from there.
You could put UV dye in but unless you have the tools and know how to repair it... it wouldn't do any good.

The leak can be found by using the dye, or by adding Freon and using a sniffer to locate the leak. Either procedure is best left to a repair shop that's familiar with them. Once the leak is found you can have them fix it or figure out if it's something you can tackle yourself.
