im thinking of buying a limited 5.9 ZJ. It’s got 149k miles and the body is in amazing shape. 2 small specs of surface rust. Heated seats/sunroof work and it’s the 2nd owner selling. The seller is asking $4500US.

what would you guys pay for this unit? Anything I should look out for?

 

Seems decent for a 5.9 if it's in good shape.

Grand Cherokee with the 5.9 was only available the one year. 1998.

 

Hope You bought it and it's a good one. I just paid $6000 for a 98 5.9L QuadraTrack , almost 200K miles . Older fellow was fixing up his wife's one owner XJ for his grandkids. He had a 4 lift done right, Trans and transfer case rebuilt and mounted up a set of Komodo MT 33x12.5x15 tires. Kids got to fighting before he was done so he bought them a pair of fast ATVs. I was about to have a 89 S10 4x4 Blazer fixed up and lifted but the mechanic I went to had just put the transfer case in the XJ for the guy. I got lucky.
I really like it. Fast little thing when you get on it. Limited spare tire carry options. Use Premium Gas 91 YES you really can tell the difference. NEW member Will post pics ASAP.

 

The NP249 transfer case is a piece of crap but you can swap an NP242 or 231 in.

 

Would anyone be interested in aftermarket headers, headlights/ tail lights for a 98 5.9 ZJ?
