So my break lights were out and a friend looked at it for me and we changed the whole assembly also because it was busted. Now the right and top brake lights won't go off at all. And the left one won't come on at all.

 

What did you replace it with? New or used? If you used new pars, you should be good to go. Used parts are likely as old as the ones you removed so its a crapshoot.
