Default Bolt rusted to control arm bushing insert.

Trying to remove control arm. Got the nut off just fine, but from what I can tell, the bolt is rusted to the metal insert on the bushing. I've tried hammering, pressing, propane torch, prying, vinegar, and crying.

The picture below is with the press maxed out. You can see the quarter inch or so of space created between the left side of the mount and the bushing Any further and I will bend the mounts. I'd estimate ~100'lbs applied to get it where it is, and the press was just cleaned and oiled.

Oh, and the bolt is an internal hex head. Tried turning it as much as I could without stripping it. Nothing. I'd like to avoid cutting, but that might have to be it.

Sawzall.

Cut off the bolt, press in a new bushing, move on with life.

Well I'm taking it off to put in new bushings anyway, so that part is fine.

Problem is, due to a combination of circumstances, getting that new bolt will take quite some time! Not impossible by any means, but I'll avoid it if possible.

Then again, I suppose I could just stick a punch in with a duct tape fastener to hold it in place while waiting for new new bolt.. What could go wrong?

LOL, I think they use JB weld as thread lube on those front end bolts at the jeep factory. I've already had to torch two out of mine and 2 is all I've tried to take out.

Seems like it... I actually had better luck on my front end. This is the upper left rear control arm, where it connects to the axle.

Figured I'd try turning the bolt some more, and if it strips, oh well.
Now the bushing insert is no longer connected to the bushing. Still nice and snug with the bolt though.
