Body lift VS Budget Booster VS ???
Got me a 2001 GC Laredo, needed the V8, and now I am looking into modification.
Staying reasonable I want find out which would be the best way to lift it about 3 inches. I want to be able to do some wheeling, need to still be able to tow and it will be my DD. I am thinking after i lift it I can run some 31s.
I am a noob so talking down to me will be understood.
Side question...any place to get a manual for my Jeep? System says it is going to need service in 50 miles. Other then oil and diff check what needs to be done? got 102K plus miles.
Thanks......I will and ask less and then help more.

Byron, The Cherokee and Grand Cherokee are unibody vehicles in which the frame if you want to call it that is part of the rest of the body and can't be separated. You will have to lift it with springs or spring spacers.

4 inch lift may be the way
Well looks like i can do 2 inches or 4 inches. Looking at this lift from rough country. http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_wj_4.html Anyone know what I lose, if anything, in respect to towing? Need to still be able to tow a light camper. Maybe 5k-6k lbs. Got stock wheels and my reading says I can't run 31s with them, 16 or 17 inch rims. True? If I need to trim I am not worried about it.
Thanks.
Thanks.

If you're going 4" i would recommend the ironrock offroad kit,it's much better(they also have a 3"). If you go 4" you will have no problems running 31's,even at 2" you will be fine with them. I don't understand what you're saying about the rims?

They are slightly more expensive because they are better parts. The RC lift comes with all drop brackets while the IRO comes with actual parts.(i.e. adj.track bar,ext swaybar links etc.)

A 4' lift is $500 at RC and $750 at Iron rock....$250 re Iron Rocks are worth it? The 3 inch is $100 more then the RC 4 inch. Upgrade the shocks too?

I'd go with the 3" and maybe trim just a little out of the inner fenderwells. Yes IR is worth the extra. An adj track bar alone is over $100 and you get sway bar drops and all the better stuff they know how to lift a Grand.
I'd run 16s max. After that tire prices go way up and you lose a lot of sidewall especially with only 31s. Check into a 265/75/16 and a 265/70/16(little smaller). Both shouldn't be too bad on the wallet.
