Default Body Control Module BCM 2001 Grand Cherokee

I need to replace the Body Control Module BCM on my 2001 Grand Cherokee - is it mounted behind the fuse panel? Difficult to get out? The manual describes a few screws and off it comes - but I can't see it if it's near or behind the fuse panel.

I lost my heater control illumination, ash tray light and shift indicator. The service manual says the lights are unfused and wire directly into the BCM.

I have very few factory options on my Jeep and I am concerned if I can just swap the BCM with a used one. Wonder if I could just wire in the inoperative lights directly myself to another source???

Any technical help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately I never found a site like that for ZJ's. I've got a link for a '93 & '98 ZJ FSM but not for a '94, sorry.
I've also got the '97 ZJ FSM on pdf but don't know how to get it to work on a link. I'm not very computer savy.
