Blown Upper Hose and Radiator Cap
Hello all. I come to the forum looking for help with an issue with 2006 GC 5.7l. Ill do my best to describe symptoms below
6:30am Drive 65-70mph highway to work
6:55am Pulling into work and noticed steam from under hood. Jeep didnt seem over heated, no check engine light or alarm sounded
9:00am Pulled radiator cap and noticed seal was damaged
12:00 Borrowed vehicle and drove to Autozone and replaced radiator cap
3:30 Left work on HWY, vehicle
3:40 Noticed steam on exit ramp. Pulled over and popped hood. Car gauge was not over heated, no alarm sounded or check engine light
3:45 Jeep would not start
5:00 Tow truck dropped off at home
5:30 Diagnosed upper radiator had a 2" tear
6:00 Drained radiator to check, about a gallon came out
8:00 Still wont start
A few side notes- I replaced upper hose and filled radiator back up with water and did not feel water in lower hose. fuel pump is heard at ignition. Butterfly valve at air intake and relay twitches a bit at ignition, this seems atypical. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like the first persons/posters question was hijacked. I don't have an answer for your question but you need to know that there is no "alarm" that tells you when your engine is overheating. No bells, whistles or buzzers make noise when the engine gets overheated.

Do you have any of that old coolant left? If so, take it to a radiator shop and have it tested for exhaust gasses. If it has them in it, you have a blown head gasket and you will have to replace it before you can drive it again.
