Default Blower not working

So I haven't had heat in my zj all winter long. Now I decide to repair the issue hah. I replaced the resistor today thinking that was the problem, but nothing. Nothing comes out at any speed or temperature. The blower motor made a rattling noise for the longest time. Than one day it just stopped working. The only thing that happens when I turn the temp control on is a clicking any ideas on what the problem could be? This is so frustrating!!!

I think it's pretty obvious your blower motor has **** the bed.

That's what I figured. I just wanted to see if anyone else had any other ideas before I went and got a new one.

No air came out of my vents the other day either. Neither hot or cold, high or low. Just randomly stopped working. Sooooo I gave the little black box under the glove box near the floor a nice solid HIT/Kick and BAM, got air coming through all vents again...

If the bearings were rattling, it's a good sign the motor is drawing more current that it should, thus burning out the resister. Sometimes it even melts the connecter. How did yours look?

Can't you put 12v directly to the fan to see if it comes on? That or ohm the fan motor out with a multimeter. Mine quit working and it was a shorted wire farther back down the wiring. First make sure the fan motor is toast then if it's not start ohming the wiring to where the problem is.

The resistor looks fine. Just old. Nothing on it is melted or charred in any way.

I have yet to check the connections on the blower motor as it raining and you have to have the door open to look under there.

I don't blame ya not worth messing with while raining. But that's what my issue was on my 97 xj. Do you have a multimeter and are you familiar with how to ohm out a fan motor?
