Default Best year in gc's

Hey I am looking into getting a gc and am torn between a zj or wj. Whichever I choose will for sure have a v8. My dad has a 99 4.7 and it eats parts like crazy so I am kind of leaning into a zj or a newer wj. Any suggestions/advise?

Zj is lighter slightly shorter and when you lift it you dont have an A arm to mess with. My opinion is Zj but not the I6 get a 5.2 a 5.9 would be nice but get to lookin. Also for the V8s on ZJs swap a 242 or 231 not alot of people like the 249 TC. Just remember its a Jeep it likes you spending alot of money on it. Also the 99 isnt a fav bc its the first year of the WJ model.

thanks guys! yeah i think in 99-20 jeep was trying out new stuff because i have talked with owners of newer ones and they havent had a problem. Also most offroad parts require upgrades too. I had an xj but am not a fan of the 4.0. It will probably be a zj 5.2 or 5.9

I found an 02' that was in a sandwhich accident. it needs a new back door and front grille and possible drivetrain stuff. Anybody think I should jump on it? couple hundred bucks and i couple get it back in gear and ready to start mudding

Don't be blinded by a "good" deal, keep looking.
