Default best gasket sealer

my trans pan is leaking. again. i replaced the gasket once with a rubber fel pro gasket, still leaked. replaced that gasket with the molded plastic and rubber one from mopar. still leaked. replaced trans pan (old one was warped) and used the reusable mopar gasket. still leaks. im thinking of using the rubber gasket that came with the new pan, and some kind of sealant. ive heard permatex "right stuff" will seal up an elephants @ss. what do you guys recommend?

There is a torque spec for the pan bolts when using the Mopar gasket.

I dont know what to tell ya, the re-usable mopar gasket it very forgiving for over tightening. I would assume you would probably strip threads before warping anything with this gasket. I have only had cheap gaskets like some of the cork and rubber gaskets cause leaks, mainly due to over torque and sometimes bolts coming loose. Right stuff is a good product but I would try to not use it, if so be light on the application.

Is it leaking in a particular area all the time or certain side? Clean it real well and watch close to see where its leaking. If it seems like its the drivers side then double check the shift rail seal and NSS switch, also possible its the trans solenoid connector.

it seems to be leaking mostly from the passenger side towards the rear of the pan. im pretty sure i got all the bolts evenly tightened, i went clockwise, skipping 2 bolts for each 1 i tightened.

Brown Permatex is the best for sealing but it is a PINA to scrape clean if you ever have to go back.
