bent/snapped push rods??
whats up guys, been trying to revive a 94 zj 4.0 thats been sitting but it has been a difficult time lol.
Fixed a fuel pump then the next morning it did not have compression and bent #1 and #6 push rods.
Fixed the push rods and then the next morning it did not have compression in all cylinders. #6 push rod snapped (the one i replaced)
Did i install the push rod wrong or do i have sticky valves or bad lifters??

I must assume the push rods are stock length.
Sounds significantly stuck. I can understand your not expecting this result.
I am thinking stuck valves but never seen such a stick as to snap the pushrod.
I am inclined to recommend a witches brew of brake fluid, oil and WD40 mixture.
This is a "dark side mixture for penetrating and releasing seized parts".
Handle like cryptonite.
Soak the internals with this to free up an stickies.
Will require a complete oil flush afterward. A second complete flush is also recommended.
Beyond that it's and engine pull and tear down.
All the best of luck!

Goodness, something is major wrong here. Does it turn over ok with the starter? My first thought is the timing chain jumped, but unsure if this would cause the valves to hit the pistons. If you broke pushrods, your lifters are crushed. Id be taking the head off that one.
