Unhappy Battery not charging, alt. is good, ground, hot-wire, fuses, etc. all check????

Ok, I've been everywhere on the net to try to find an answer. My question isn't like many I've seen (How many quarts of oil for a 4.0 etc...) I'm figuring I need a new PCM (computer), but am looking for any advice or pointers on this. I've got a '96 Grand Cherokee Laredo w/ a 4.0. The battery checks out, the alternator checks out, I've got bood connections between them. (checked ohms). Anybody know anything?

Thanks all, I really do think it is the computer. (dash lights flicker, check engine on/off all the time...) My kids are falling asleep now, I'm about to pull the instrument cluster and check the actual guage. I'm set to take it monday to a pro, who works on only jeeps. Just not the type to wait for someone else.... I will definitely keep it posted, cause this sure is a crappy problem. I hate electrical...

The voltage regulator is built into the PCM. Check and see if the 60 wire plug is tight at the PCM.

Yeah, plug is tight at the PCM. I was reading somewhere, i don't know where, they were saying something about some screws on the PCM being to long ... back 'em out some, I dunno, have you ever heard anything like this?

i installed an external voltage regulator,60$ labor and parts. thats an alternative to not buying the PCM.

I forgot to post the answer to my problems. Before i went to buy a new computer, i decided to put the Jeep in a garage to have a diagnostics ran on it. Note: I followed wires all the way back to the PCM, and I figured the jeep would have to be running to really know what was going on. This fella at the shop figured there was something loose in the alternator, see it actually worked sometimes. So that was it, loose something inside alternator. I did not take alt. apart to check it out, just got a new one, but if in the field.... try taking alternator apart...soldering iron...home.
